Understanding The Importance Of Pharmaceuticals To The Community

Have you ever read the labels of the medicine you are taking? In today's world, we owe a lot of gratitude to the pharmaceuticals for saving millions of lives everyday.  There are many types of medicine available in the market for public health administration thanks to the nonstop effort of pharmaceutical companies.

Networked through vast contacts from across the globe, pharmaceuticals team up to make things work easier than working individually which will make things mixed up and time consuming.

What do pharmaceuticals mean?  This industry has become notable to the public due to the major role it plays to the community's general welfare.

The word pharmaceutical came from the Greek word "pharmakeus" which means someone who prepares medicine or poison, and "pharmakon" which means medicine.  This industry existed long before the word pharmaceutical was created.  Early inhabitants of the planet are traced to be aware of its importance.

The History: It is said that the first pharmaceutical or drugstore on the record was during the middle ages.  Nevertheless, this has been practiced even before the civilizations were organized.  From the Australopithecus to the Modern Day Humans, pharmaceutical indeed played a big role to the society.  Evidenced by the wall markings and cave paintings, research shows that even early humans already know the importance of medication and preparation.

The Social Responsibility: Today, pharmaceutical has become larger than ever as it contributes to the totality of modern day living. The industries two main purpose is set to drug discovery and drug development.

Drug discovery is very important.  This is the stage wherein chemicals and compounds are explored to create the medicine or drug.  During the early ages, medicines are discovered either by active ingredient isolation from traditional remedies or by sudden twist of fate.  In today's biotechnology, spotlights are directed to the metabolic pathways of the pathogens or disease, manipulating them through biochemistry or molecular biology.

After the drug or medicine was created and identified, drug development kicks in.  This process completes further studies regarding the new drug's potency through appropriate formulation and dosage.  Administered through clinical trials, this process uses in vitro and in vivo studies.

Pharmaceuticals in a Nutshell: The world will be paralyzed without pharmaceuticals.  It has become a vital factor for the community's general welfare.  Imagine how the world will function well without medicines, supplements, personal care products, preventive medications, physiological enhancement medication, and all other essential drugs.  Truly, without pharmaceuticals, life expectancy rate will drop way below we can imagine.

It is one of the most important industries we have in today's modern and busy world, which is why it is one of the most expensive industry alive.

Pharmaceuticals are governed by the common law affecting the community's welfare and total being guided by the common goal of a healthy world.  It is fueled by the people's need for holistic convenience leading to an improved and better living.
